5 Stunning Beaches in Lagos, You’ll Fall in Love With
Maggio 27, 2025/
During my trip to Lagos, I had the chance to visit some of the most beautiful and unique beaches in the area. Each one has its own charm, but all of them left a lasting impression on me. Here are my favorites.
The first beach I visited, and perhaps the most famous, was Praia do Camilo. I arrived early in the morning, perfect for taking photos before it got too crowded. This small and picturesque beach is reached by a long wooden staircase descending between cliffs. Even early in the morning, it was already quite busy, and it gets even more crowded during the day due to its size and popularity. But the crystal-clear water and rocky landscape make it truly unique.
Praia Dona Ana
Much larger and equipped with amenities, Praia Dona Ana is ideal for those looking for comfort. I enjoyed a snack at the beach bar-restaurant—some fries and a cold Coca-Cola. From the cliffs above, you can enjoy stunning views of the other beaches and the surrounding rock formations.
Fun fact: Many of these beaches are connected by scenic trails, perfect for those who love hiking and exploring the coastline on foot.
Praia dos Estudantes
Known for its natural rock arch, this beach is just a short walk from Lagos town center. From our hotel, it was easy to reach on foot, which is great if you want a quick beach break without needing a car. It’s a beautiful spot, perfect for strolling among the rocks.
Praia do Pinhão
This more hidden beach was a bit tricky to explore due to rough seas and high tide. It’s not always accessible, so it’s good to check the conditions before visiting. It’s worth the visit for the stunning caves where we took some photos. The view from the cliffs above is breathtaking as well.
Praia do Porto de Mós
To end the list, let’s talk about Praia do Porto de Mós — the largest of all. This is a large and mostly free beach, perfect for those who love wide open spaces to relax and enjoy the sun. There are some nearby hotels, houses, and a few beach bars, but the beach itself remains largely open and accessible to everyone. It’s also a fantastic spot for watching the sunset, with plenty of room to find your own peaceful corner.
Kayak tours run around these beaches, and it’s common to see kayaks arriving on several of them, adding to the charm and activities you can enjoy in the area. Unfortunately, during my visit the sea was too rough to join any tours, but this is definitely something to try if conditions are good.
Each beach has its own special charm, and these five have truly stayed in my heart. Lagos and its surroundings are a real gem waiting to be explored, and I can’t wait to go back.
